Linda Beasley Stone, MSW Intern

IMG_6684 (3)Linda is a second-year MSW Intern attending the University of New Hampshire Manchester Campus.  She earned her first Master’s degree in psychology and worked for fourteen years in community mental health specializing in addiction services.  She is also a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor (LCADC).  In January of 2010, her interest in working with veterans motivated a change in her career which resulted in accepting a position at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction Vermont.  She is currently working as an addiction therapist at the VA Medical Center and as the Program Manager for the VA’s Residential Recovery Center.  She completed her first UNH MSW field placement with Child and Family Services working out of the Lebanon, NH office.  That internship, as well as seeing the need for more work being done within military family units, created an interest in working on active military bases.  Her goal is to work with families as they prepare for deployment, during deployment and returning home from deployment.  She is looking forward to learning more as an intern about how macro social work will compliment her work with the military in developing and implementing programs for military families.
